Morocco and Senegal done !

publié le 20 juil. 2009 12:10 par Kamon Ayeva   [ mis à jour le·24 juil. 2009 15:58 ]

In December 2008, we started the tour in Morocco, where we organized a Python tutorial followed by a conference day for students of Ecole Mohammedia d'Ingenieurs in Rabat. A report of this event was posted by Daniel Nouri, one of the volunteer trainers, here.

On July 6 - 10, we co-organized the Senegal stop with the AUF (Centre Numérique Francophone de Dakar), the DakarLUG guys, and the ESP (Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique). This event featured the Python tutorial followed by a barcamp day, and Django and Scientific Python workshops happening in parallel.

The Tour is starting next month, with a 5-days event to promote and work on Python and Plone in Morocco, invited by the EMI school (Ecole Mohammadia d'Ingénieurs).
  • On December 18th and 19th, we will be introducing Python to two groups of students within the school. Volunteer instructors for the training are Daniel Nouri and Amine Souleymani.
  • After the training days, there will be an unconference-style session for a larger public, with demos and talks related to Python and Plone, followed by a sprint. More details about these activities will follow.
